Sonnet 1
The changeful moon more constant seems than he,
Who heats my blood and burning fire creates
In depths where passion rules and dreams are free,
This man that Whimsy loves, Commitment hates.
My heart, oh gentle night, do look to mend!
The twinkling stars with shining tearful eyes
In troubling times a thousand better friends
Than he who nothing sheds but artful sighs.
Eternal night, for some a sweet escape,
Shall naméd be my new companion sweet
Whose chisel shall unhappy fate reshape.
My friend, let me from faithless love retreat!
He comes-my friend, forgive my sorry state
I think a single night more I will wait
